William H. Prouty, MBA, PhD: Director of Training

Dr. Prouty’s Educational business career spans over 40 years and includes hands-on management and leadership of many educational and non-profit organizations.  Dr. Prouty teaches a wide variety of business management and communications programs at bpth local and regional levels. Dr. Prouty helps in coordinating the development of an extensive series of educational and internship programs in the areas of Information Technology, Business Operations, Personal Financial Development, Electronic Commerce and Internet Marketing.  He assists in training and staff development needs of employer organizations through a personal and business resource system that includes over thousands of skills training courses and 20,000+ hours of educational content.  His newest project, Global Education Systems Alliance is growing international educational resource market providers and assists many California employers in benefiting from the California Employment Training Panel staff skills development and training grant program. 

Dr. Prouty received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Administration from Iowa State University.  He has been awarded his MBA and PhD in Business Organizational Development and holds  several specialty degrees, CLU, CBC, CEP, CEC and RHU in the financial services and E-Commerce industries.  He served his country as a Naval Officer during the Vietnam war. We are very proud to have him on our team.

 

Leon Jones, Certified PV Installer: Chief Instructor and Course developer

Leon Jones is a Certified PV Installer. He has over 10 years of experience in PV system design and installation. Leon started his journey in alternative energy purely out of interest. He is a renewable energy advocate and preaches his beliefs through community activity, volunteering and teaching. He has designed, installed and guided many solar projects in residential and commercial markets. He joined AIRE as Chief Instructor and is responsible for PV courses development, approval and the delivery process. He is also a member of the AIRE curriculum development committee.  

In addition to PV training, Leon is also lead trainer for the new “Residential Energy Specialists” program. Training consists of a five-week program covering basic building science, program requirements, electrical  components and sales techniques. He is developing a training curriculum and the corresponding material to standardize training programs. We are very pleased to have Leon as our Chief Instructor.

 

Tim Butts: HVAC, PV and Weatherization Instructor

Mr. Tim Butts has an extensive building science construction background and he is an expert energy manager with twenty-three years of net-zero energy solar homes experience. He has over twenty years of work force development job skills training that have greatly benefited high school and adult learners.  He is currently  a Certificated Career and Technical Adult Education teacher in Sacramento where he teaches HVAC installation and repair, Photovoltaic System Installation, Green Technology Construction and Renovations, Building Performance Institute (BPI) Energy Programs including Whole House – Insulation & Air Sealing, Building Analyst, Building Envelope, and Multifamily certification programs.

Tim Butts has established a renovation construction weatherization training program in Sacramento with the Twin Rivers Unified School District. He developed and is implementing a Maintenance Repairer Apprenticeship Training Program for foreclosed single/multifamily homes in Sacramento through private investors that includes using Photovoltaic, Wind, and Solar heating systems.

Tim Butts has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a computer minor from National University, which has enhanced his working ability with computer energy analysis systems, audit reports, project presentations and final work scope development.

 

Dr. Sean White, CA Solar Contractor Lic C46 and NABCEP Certified PV Installer: PV Instructor

Dr. Sean White is NABCEP Certified PV Installer and holds CA C46 License. He is well experienced in the PV field. Dr. White started his journey in alternative energy as a PV technical researcher for Local Power for a decade. He is an experience solar designer & solar project manager. He has designed many solar projects for both  residential and commercial markets. Early in 2008, he started teaching PV at Merritt Community College in Oakland CA. Currently Dr. White is an Adjunct Professor at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, CA where he teaches an Advanced PV Class and a C-46 Solar Contractors License Exam Preparation course. Dr. White also teaches PV at Solar University in Livermore California. Dr. White is an active member of the American Solar Energy Society. He joined as a contract instructor at American institute of renewable Energy (AIRE). He is also a member of the AIRE curriculum development committee. He is currently serving on E2logicx Solar Advisory Board and will join E2logicx Design Team as consultant. We are very pleases to have Sean as our PV Instructor.
