Why Renewable Energy?

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act) was signed into law by President Obama on February 17th, 2009. It is an unprecedented effort to jump-start our economy, create and save millions of jobs, and put a down payment on addressing longneglected challenges in order for our country to thrive in the 21st century.

The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RE&EE) industries represented more than 9 million jobs and $1.045 billion in U.S. revenue in 2007, according to a new report offering the most detailed analysis yet of the green economy. The renewable energy industry grew three times as fast as the U.S. economy, with the solar thermal, photovoltaic, bio-diesel, and ethanol sectors leading the way, each with 25%+ annual revenue growth.
